Love Note: Dressing for Desire

Love Note: Dressing for Desire

Just a reminder today my dear, that you can wear whatever you want to wear, and be whoever you want to be.

I remember the first time I went shopping after I had just started my journey with sensuality and pleasure.

Until that point, I would hone in on the items in the store that would adequately allow me to hide my body. (read: black pants, sweaters, t-shirts.)

But the new freedom I felt in my body made me realize I could wear spaghetti straps, mini-skirts and lacy dresses that hugged my curves.

It was like the store had suddenly tripled in size!

My body hadn't changed, nor had the selection of the store.

What changed was what I felt I deserved to wear.

When I first went out in a lacy spaghetti strap number, I thought all of New York City would gawk at me with a horrified look.

"Who does she think she is?"

"Her arms are too fat to wear that dress."

But what happened was quite the opposite.

I felt adventurous, sensual and adorned.

I received a heaping dose of pleasurable attention.

Not because of what I was wearing.

Because of how I felt in what I was wearing.

My body, no longer hidden, was radiating beauty as a healing gift.

I looked beautiful because I felt beautiful.

(I haven't bought a pair of black pants since.)

May you delight in taking risks, adorning fearlessly, and reveling in exactly what you WANT to wear this week.

Love and Lace,
